Enjoy ‘Christmas shopping with a conscience’ at the Acorn Centre

THERE will be a special late night opening of UBUNTU Fairtrade outlet in the Acorn Centre, Inverurie on Thursday, November 8, to enable people to enjoy ‘Christmas shopping with a conscience’.

UBUNTU, will be open from 6.30 to 8.30pm allowing shoppers a chance to enjoy a complimentary tea, coffee or Fairtrade wine as they browse a wide selection of Christmas gifts and sample some Christmas treats.

“This is an opportunity for people to give something different this Christmas”, said Anne Groves from UBUNTU, “a Christmas present which family and friends can enjoy all the more because they know the producer is getting a fair price for their work.”

This year Jonathan Williams, a freelance graphic artist, who is now based at Fyvie will be on hand to discuss his illustration of the 2013 “World In Your Kitchen” calendar. Working with other artists Jonathan produces lively colourful children’s books, illustrates newspapers and magazines.

The usual range of crafts, jewellery, food, and paper products, including Christmas cards and calendars, will also be available to view on the evening.
