Ellon is gearing up for its annual pedal car race this Sunday (August 25).
The popular charity event, now in its fourth year, is organised by Ellon Rotary Club in conjunction with the Ythan Cycle Club.
Race convener, Rotarian Mike Watson, said their aim was to support Maggie’s Cancer Care Centres, one of which is due to open soon at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Roads in the town centre will be closed from 10am until 5pm.
Diversion signs will be in place and marshals available to helps road users and those wanting to attend the event.
Competitors will follow a circuit around the town, starting and finishing in The Square, with various prizes on offer.
In addition to the cycle and pedal car races, there will be stalls and attractions in the Market Street car park and pedal car pits in Neil Ross Square.
An open air car showroom, from main sponsors Morrison Motors, will be in The Square. Ellon and District Pipe Band will lead the pedal car procession around the circuit before the teams take off Le Mans style from the grid in Market Street.
Ellon Events committee will have a stall selling tickets for this year’s Gig at the Brig Hogmanay spectacular and the remaining tickets for their grand summer draw will also be on sale.
