Artists across the north east are being asked to join a celebration of the area’s creative talent and be part of this year’s North East Open Studios (NEOS).
Running from September 9-17, the event is open to individual artists, groups and clubs. From Aberdeen to Forres and Johnshaven, there are creative artists showing everything from painting and photography to pottery and sculpture and all media are invited to take part.
During the annual festival, the talent of Aberdeen City and shire will be on show across a diversity of venues big and small, from garden studios to community centres.
Ruth McEvilliy, chairwoman, said: “We are delighted to be part of the Aberdeen Festivals scene that is putting the area on the map with everything from the wonderful SPECTRA and DanceLive to the Look Again Festival. North East Open Studios offers something unique, an opportunity to meet a very wide variety of artists and groups from across the North East and find out the story behind their work.”
Morag McGee, NEOS Co-ordinator added: “From seasoned artists to those dipping their toe in the water with their first public exhibition, North East Open Studios is open to artists and groups old and new. You do not need to have your own studio or a home with space to exhibit, many of our members will exhibit together in community venues.
