Spotlight on local talent at Logie Durno

A FUNDRAISING community, “The Talent Factor”, is set to take place in Logie Durno Village Hall on Saturday, May 25 at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

Organisers are hoping to bring together everyone of all ages and talents in Durno and surrounding villages, for a fun and lively evening to showcase the talent in the local area, and are looking for anyone who can sing, play a musical instrument, dance, juggle, recite poetry, act, perform magic and groups are also invited.

Applications are available from; Logie Durno School and the hall’s Community Cafe (which meets on a the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month),the Drum Shop or from Anne Mansfield on (01464) 851413 or

Deadline for applications is Friday, April 21, and the cost is £2.50 to apply. Applicants need to be available from 3pm on the day of the show for a practice run-through at the hall.

Entertainment will be from Ella Winter, last year’s Winner of Insch’s Got Talent. Organisers say that they are honoured to have Ella singing on the night and presenting the prizes to the winner.

There will also be games, raffle, refreshments available and prizes.

All proceeds will go to Logie Durno Village Hall’s Refurbishment Fund.

Organisers would like to thank Altro Designerwear and Diack Motors for sponsorship but are looking for further sponsorship from local businesses who would like to support this charity, community event.

The contest will be judged by the following three Judges, who are all professionals in the music and drama world; Rhona Mitchell, of Mitchell’s School of Drama, Inverurie; Scott Cruikshank, professional musician, from Aberdeen and Melodie Fraser, professional singer, from Aberdeen.

The Stage Manager will be Iain Halkett, of The Folding Theatre Ltd, Aberdeen.

Admission for the show will be, £5 for adults, and £3 for children.
