Accountancy staff raise cash for local cause

Members of staff from Johnston Carmichael’s Inverurie office have raised more than £1,500 for a local charity after a year-long fundraising drive.

Staff raised the cash for the Grampian Child Bereavement Network, which provides bereavement support to children and young people across Grampian.

The Inverurie office raised the funds through a number of activities held throughout the year, including a Burns supper, bingo and quiz nights and a silent auction.

The Inverurie office carries out fundraising activities every year as part of a firm-wide CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) policy to support a wide variety of charitable causes.

James Porter, Managing Partner of the office, commented: “We’re delighted to be supporting our local community with this donation. The Grampian Child Bereavement Network offers an extremely valuable service to the region.”

Anne Bone, Chairperson of Grampian Child Bereavement Network added: “I am most grateful to the staff for fundraising for us throughout the past year. Our network not only provides support, but aims to raise awareness of the impact of bereavement on children and young people. This donation will help us to provide this necessary support and resource to the local community.”

The cheque was handed over to the charity last Friday (July 27).
