Entier is delighted to announce that a Meldrum Academy pupil is amongst their new Fresh Olives apprentices for 2016.
Brandon Duncan was successful in the cook off and will all now take a place amongst existing apprentices within Entier’s Fresh Olive apprenticeship programme.
The final took place within Entier’s bespoke training kitchen and amidst stiff competition 12 finalists took part in the cook off challenge to create a Chinese chicken stir fry dish to wow the judging panel in a bid to become one of Entier’s next batch of Olives.
The judging panel consisting of Bruce Lawrence, Executive Chef, Lesley Officer, HR Director and George McIvor a Masterchef of Great Britain, were extremely impressed with the standard of cooking and commended all the finalists.
They encouraged those who were not successful to continue in their goal to break into the catering industry.
The judges also noted thecandidates’ level of confidence and their skill was commended, with the judges saying they were all excellent ambassadors for their schools.
The successful new apprentices will now take up a three-year paid apprenticeship with Entier learning from the award winning talent already within the organisation.
This new intake of apprentices comes on the back of Entier’s recent Investors in Young People (IiYP) Gold accreditation.
The team from IIYP were extremely impressed with the Fresh Olives apprenticeship programme and the company’s core principle of nurturing a skilled workforce for the next generation.
