An electric carnival will arrive in Ellon this weekend to allow residents to learn more about electric vehicles and available charging points.
The roadshow began touring around towns across Aberdeenshire last month and this Sunday, October 4, marks the last day of the tour.
The carnival will run on Sunday from 10am to 3pm in Ellon’s Market Square.
A range of models will be showcased at the carnival including Audi’s e-Tron, BMW’s i-8 and the Nissan Leaf.
Chairman of the council’s Infrastructure Services Committee, Councillor David Aitchison, said: “This is a really exciting time for sustainable transport.
“Aberdeenshire Council is already supporting this emerging technology by working in partnership with Transport Scotland to provide a charging network for plug-in cars.”
Vice-chair of the committee, Councillor Stephen Smith, said: “By the end of autumn 2015 there will be a charging point in 11 of our key towns.
“The Electric Carnival will give residents an opportunity to find out more about electric cars in a fun and family-friendly environment.”
