Delegates to a major national travel trade event are to be given a full flavour of what Aberdeen City and Shire has to offer.
This year’s VisitScotland Expo 2012 is the only business-to-business event for the travel trade that is entirely Scottish.
It will be held in Edinburgh’s Royal Exhibition Centre on April 25 and 26.
An Aberdeen City and Shire stand, supported by Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City Councils, will feature local businesses invited to exhibit to showcase the area.
It is an ideal opportunity for the region to show how much it has to offer business and tourism visitors.
Those participating on the stand include Mercure Ardoe House Hotel and Spa, Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course, Glen Lui Hotel and the Park Inn Hotel.
Aberdeenshire visitor attractions represented include Macduff Marine Aquarium.
Tourism is vital for the area, making it important to showcase the variety of visitor attractions, the high quality food and drink produce and the natural beauty of the region to continue to grow the industry and deliver more for the local economy.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Economic Development, Belinda Miller, said: “This event is one of the most important in the Scottish tourism industry calendar.
“It is a great opportunity to promote Aberdeen City and Shire by building relationships with tour operators and visitors who may be looking for what we have to offer as a great holiday and leisure destination.”
VisitScotland Regional Director, Shona Anderson said: “The benefits of VisitScotland expo are huge for those involved in tourism, encouraging people to visit the region and promote the wide range of attractions and breathtaking scenery in the area.
“The trade show is a terrific opportunity to showcase hidden gems and gain valuable insight on marketing Aberdeenshire and indeed Scotland to the world.”
