Inverurie Golf Club was the place to be last Thursday evening as around 150 ladies came together for a Fashion Show to support fundraising for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The ladies very much enjoyed watching the models show off a range of fabulous clothes from Fashionista of Oldmeldrum.

After a brief introduction about the Charity, the audience gave a warm reception to the models, all local women who had volunteered for the occasion, looking fantastic in an amazing eight different changes of outfit from the shop’s autumn and winter collection and some of the more glamorous clothes for the party season.

Wearing dresses suitable for parties or weddings and with hats from Pear Tree Hat Hire the models finished off the show to a well deserved round of applause.

To keep the mood of the show upbeat, Gordon from Banchory very generously gave his time and skills to provide music and lighting to great effect.

On show was a signed artists proof by local artist Angela Davidson of her very special painting of her son and his big friend Jake the Clydesdale. The framed painting “No Turning Back” has been generously given by an anonymous donor to the Garioch Fundraising Group to raise funds to support the nursing care provided by Marie Curie Cancer Care locally. The group hope to raise a minimum of £400 for the painting and have invited anyone interested to submit a bid. More information about the painting can be found on Angela Davidson’s website

The local Garioch fundraising group were absolutely delighted with the support they got for the event and although totals are not yet finalised they group are expecting a final total of approximately £2000 will have been raised for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Group Secretary Sheena Clarke said, “We can only be full of praise for all the businesses who were there on the night and in particular Anne Brand and Elaine Penny from Fashionista of Oldmeldrum who put a huge amount of time and effort into making the evening a success.

“It was great also to see the eight local ladies who volunteered as models for the event and we are grateful for them giving of their time to help make it such a success. We’d like to thank Gordon for the great music and lighting and Ricky and the staff of the Inverurie Golf Club who have been so helpful in the planning and organising of the event and who were on hand to help ensure the evenings success.

“The group also thanked many individuals and local business who had responded to requests for raffle prizes and last but not least thanked all the ladies who had come along on the night to
support the event.”
