Could you help construct sets for Spotlight Theatre?

INVERURIE’S Spotlight Theatre is bringing another traditional style farce to Inverurie Town Hall, by popular demand, in May 2013.

And the local theatre group are looking for volunteers to help with sets for future performances.

“When Did You Last See Your Trousers”, written by Ray Galton and John Antrobus, features all the ingredients of a good farce and is crafted with well honed skill to try to make a completely ridiculous situation seem as plausible as possible.

Rehearsals, led by director Kenny Fraser, are well under way with a cast made up of both long term members of the group and others who have only joined the group this year. However, Spotlight is still on the lookout for help backstage, particularly in one area. Over the years Spotlight has become more ambitious when it comes to the sets they construct for their shows. A small team led by their experienced designer Dave Hudghton is responsible for this side of things but the group would like to recruit some additional help. They are looking for those already able to or willing to learn how to construct stage sets for this particular show and for shows in the future. If you are keen to be involved in amateur dramatics but don’t necessarily want to appear on stage, Spotlight would like to hear from you. Anyone interested should contact Kenny Fraser at or pop in to one of the rehearsals that are held during term time in Inverurie Academy on Tuesday evenings between 7.30 and 9.30pm.

The production itself will run from Thursday, May 23, to Saturday, May 25 at Inverurie Town Hall. As usual it will be a licensed event with seating in a cabaret-style layout. Information on how to obtain tickets will be announced in the local press and on posters nearer the date of the production
