An Ellon councillor has criticised further delays in the roll-out of a new parking system.
Council pay and display machines were being upgraded throughout the region along with introduction of new tariffs,

But the scheme has been beset by hold-ups and Councillor Gillian Owen was told it is down to a number of factors, with the main problem being electricity supply.
She said: “This was not apparent until the contractor was on site to install the machines and we have been working with the contractor and SSE to consider how we resolve the issue.
“The process to install new machines with mains isolation is a complex one as it requires liaison between electricity service provider SSE, a civil engineering contractor and machine installation contractor across 24 separate locations in Aberdeenshire.”
Council bosses say a project manager has been appointed to speed up the process, with an estimated completion date of September.
Mrs Owen said: “Having received several assurances last year, the final one being at the end of November, it is very disappointing to see that we have still not cracked this issue yet.
“I am pleased that we now have this update, but I have to say September is still a long way away.”
She added that parking machines behind the library and Costcutter in Ellon were continually out of order.
