Police Scotland is appealing for information following the theft of a community accessible defibrillator from The Square at Oldmeldrum.
The theft is understood to have occurred between midday on Wednesday July 6, and around 2pm on Thursday July 7.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area and saw anyone acting in a suspicious manner. Likewise anyone with information about the whereabourts of the equipment should also come forward.
PC Charley Keith, of the Formartine Local Policing Team based at Ellon, said: “This type of crime can potentially have a massive impact on the community, particularly if someone comes to depend on this piece of life saving equipment being available.
“This defibrillator is funded through the local community council and has only been in place for a short time.
“There is the slim possibility that someone has removed this equipment for a genuine purpose and if that is the case, the person responsible is encouraged to return it to its rightful place.”
Anyone with information should contact 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
