Police have urged householders to ensure their home security is as good as it possibly can be after two homes were targeted in Ellon and Oldmeldrum.
A residential property in Ellon was targeted on Saturday, October 8 between 10.30pm and 11pm and entry gained, it is believed this was an attempt to steal from the property.
The same weekend a property in Oldmeldrum was targeted and entry to the property gained.
Formartine Community Police enquiry Constable David Ritchie said: “These are deplorable acts and while nothing was taken the householders have been left shaken by the ordeal.
“Enquiry officers would encourage anyone with information in relation to these crimes or concerns in their neighbourhood to report this to the police.”
Constable Ritchie added: “It is important to ensure all homes are made as secure as possible. If you are going away for a few days ask your neighbours or family to keep an eye on the property to ensure all is in good order.
“Police Scotland would ask that anyone who sees anything suspicious contact them on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if they wish to remain anonymous.”
