Local postman, Graham Watson, is once again turning his hand to organising the Annual Charity Darts Competition. The event will be held in the Royal British Legion on Saturday, May 26, and for the fourth year running, will be in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
There will again be separate men’s and ladies’ competitions with great prize money up for grabs. Additionally there will be other prizes as well as an auction and raffle on the day. Craig Wilson, ‘The Kilted Chef from Eat on the Green, has donated ‘A Chef For The Day’ prize for auction at the event.
All the prize money has been donated by local companies. In the history of the competition £11,000 has been raised for various local good causes, £7,000 of which for the benefit of Breast Cancer Care, over the previous three years.
Craig Wilson, ‘The Kilted Chef’ will open the event at 1pm. Unstopable fundraiser Graham said: “I asked Craig to come along as he is a very hard working chap and has raised a lot of money over the years for charity, and one of these charities is Breast Cancer Care.”
“I would like to thank all my sponsors who have so kindly donated again this year including the medium, Angel Dawn, the Black Bull Inn, Dunecht 4x4, Fetternear Fruit, Gushet Bar, Hi-Fry Chip Shop (Kemnay) Kinnons Garage (Westhill), Premier Coaches, builders, Brian Riach (Kemnay) and Robbie Walker (Inverurie), TWG Taxis (Inverurie), joiner and builder, Sean Wilson (Kemnay) Sharon Leslie (Aberdeen).
“Without the help of the sponsors, I wouldn’t be able to raise so much money. I’d also thank everybody who turns up year, in year out to support this competition and make it the great event that it is today.”
Craig Wilson said: I’m delighted to be able to offer a little something to help with funds. My family have been touched by the disease and the work the charity does is fantastic. I’m proud to be able to help in a small way.”
Registration on the day must be before 12.30pm but anybody wishing to enter in advance can contact Graham at email@example.com. Entry is £7.
