Lisa Finnigan, shop manager at Inverurie’s Davidsons Specialist Butchers, recently won the title as the UK Young Butcher of the Year.
Lisa won the prize at the Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards which took place last month.
The awards ceremony is organised by Meat Trades Journal and was held on Thursday, November 12, in Leeds.
The awards aim to seek out the best butcher’s and farm shops across the UK, as well as recognise rising stars within the industry.
The UK Young Butcher of the Year award was previously won by Lisa’s colleague Andrew Peter in 2013.
Lisa said: “This is one of the most prized awards in our industry and I am delighted to bring it back to Aberdeenshire again.”
John Davidson, of Davidsons Specialist Butchers, said: “Lisa has achieved an incredible amount in a relatively short time and we are very, very proud of all she has done.
“Lisa is a great ambassador, not only for our company, but also for the industry as a whole in terms of highlighting the scope of opportunities which exist for young people. She is a great example of just how much is possible through hard work, dedication and a real passion for your work.”
Lisa also won the Young Scottish Butcher of the Year award earlier this year.
