Painter Neil Grieve has clocked up 40 years with the same Ellon company.
He joined decorators Lawrence Milne from school and last week Neil, 56, was recognised with other colleagues for long service.
He received his award along with Sean Leask, Andrew Mechie, Fraser Duguid. Gary Laing and Brian Rose, who have been painters with the firm for 10 years.
Lawrence Milne partner Kevin Milne, who made the presentation, praised the employees for their service.
Linda Bain, curtain and soft furnishings seamstress, who could not be present last Thursday, has reached 30 years of service.
Neil, who lives near Auchnagatt, has worked for three generations of Milnes and has missed few days through illness.
He said: “I joined the company straight from school and served my apprenticeship, so it’s been my one and only job.
“I thoroughly enjoy the work and it find it so varied.
“I have no plans to retire and hope to be here for many more years.”
