Delegates receive newest qualification

Bsolutions, part of the commercial training arm of North East Scotland College has marked the successful conclusion of their first delivery of the CETOP level 3 qualification in industrial hydraulics by holding an awards presentation at Aberdeen Clinterty Campus.

bSolutions is the only centre in Scotland, and just one of two centres within the UK, to be able to offer the training for this prestigious qualification.

Amongst those receiving awards was Darren Smith of Inverurie, who works for Expro North Sea Ltd. Darren said, “Being awarded the CETOP level 3 certificate has given me more confidence at work and I now have a recognised qualification in hydraulics, which is something quite rare.”

The guest speaker at the event was Ian Morris, Director for the British Fluid Power Association, who said: “I am delighted to see all the hard work over the last two years come to fruition. The highly regarded CETOP certificate is a qualification recognised across Europe. There is a great shortage of well trained technicians and engineers in our industry and so it even more important that this training is now on offer. The students have been through an excellent grounding in the subject of fluid power in the well-equipped workshops and thanks must also go to those companies and BFPA members who gave their staff the support to complete their courses”.

The hydraulic award is for personnel involved in the maintenance and management of industrial hydraulic systems and associated controls, who require knowledge and competence based skills. Delegates on the course attended the evening plus representatives from Aker Solutions, Aquatic, Enermech, Expro, Fugro, GE Oil and Gas, Haliburton, ITC Hydraulics, Micron Eagle and Subsea 7.
