The acting head teacher of Inverurie Academy has been suspended from his post following a complaint made against him.
The member of staff was released from his role at the school earlier this week.
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson confirmed the member of staff had been suspended but could not reveal any information that led to the decision being made.
Vincent Docherty, Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Secondary Education, said: “We can confirm initial investigations have been made into a complaint against an acting head teacher.
“The member of staff has now been suspended pending a full investigation of the facts and alternative arrangements have been put in place at the school in the meantime.”
The Herald understands that a letter was sent to parents of pupils earlier in the week to inform them of the changes within the school.
