Youth guarantee

Every 16 to 19-year-old in Scotland has a guaranteed offer of a place in education or training from this week, Youth Employment Minister Angela Constance confirmed.

The pledge was announced last year, and has been backed up by an additional £30 million investment in employability projects for young people. Ms Constance said: “We know how damaging prolonged periods of unemployment can be on our young people, particularly if they’re unable to improve their employability or skills or build their experience. If you are not currently in education or have a training place, then help is available.”
