Workshop on ‘green’ spaces

Ellon residents are being invited to a public workshop tonight (Monday) to discuss how they would like to see the town’s green spaces being improved.

The event will be held in the drama studio at Ellon Community Centre from 7-9pm.

Aberdeenshire Coudncil, North East Scotland Biodiversity Partnership and The Conservation Volunteers are working together to examine opportunities to create better places in the town for both people and the environment.

A public consultation was carried out last month to gather suggestions and opinions on how greenspaces in Ellon could be improved.

More than 100 people filled out the questionnaire with 96% of respondents saying they would like to see improvements to the town’s greenspaces that would benefit biodiversity and the environment.

The workshop will allow interested residents to discuss the results of the consultation and take a closer look at the changes that could be made.
