The family of an Ellon man whose body was found in Aberdeenshire have thanked people for their support while he was missing.
Police had appealed for assistance in finding 32-year-old school technician Kevin Bartlet, who was last seen in the town after midday on Monday.
His body was discovered at Tyrie, near Fraserburgh, on Tuesday night.
A statement released by his family said: “We would like to thank all those who shared the appeal and everyone on social media for the help received during the search for Kevin, our beloved son, brother and uncle.
“Sadly the search is over and we ask that we are now left in peace to come to terms with our loss.”
Mr Bartlet was a former pupil of Ellon Academy where he went on to work. He was involved in coaching the school football teams.
Colleagues and pupils are trying to come to terms with his death.
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman said: “This news has come as a great shock to us and particularly to Kevin’s colleagues.
“We are providing support to staff and pupils at Ellon Academy and our sympathies are with Kevin’s family at this difficult time.”
Police said there are no apparent suspicious circumstances surrounding Mr Bartlet’s death.
