A festive idea by local restaurant owners has resulted in a funding boost for Ellon Resource Centre.
Tickets sold for a Christmas hamper competition at the town’s Casa Savatore raised £247.50.
Senior staff member Jenny Angus said: “This is the first year we have done anything like this.
“However, going by the response, I think it could very well become something we do each year for worthwhile causes.”
Owners Colin and Jill Cruickshank decided the resource centre should benefit from the proceeds of the competition, which took place over the three weeks leading up to Christmas.
The cheque was handed over to Colin’s sister Wendy, who attends the centre, which provides a day service for people with learning disabilities.
The hamper was won by Isabel Smollett, of Ellon.
