Nearly 3,400 runners will be putting the finishing touches to their training this week in preparation for Run Garioch on Sunday.
Inverurie’s biggest sporting event – with six different races, all based at the Garioch Sports Centre – will start with record numbers setting off in the EBLAST 5k at 9.30am.
As with last year, there’ll be food and fun for everyone in the popular Event Village.
Run Garioch’s retail partner Run4it will be on hand selling kit and race day essentials in their pop-up shop from 9am–2pm, and there’ll be displays from Nemesis Kickboxing, Ecosse Northboats Inverurie Cycle Club and GASC throughout the day.
From 9am to 3pm there will be free activities for children of all ages, including inflatables, a basketball game and a football speed cage.
Catering in the Event Village will also open at 9am and run well into the afternoon, with Run Garioch’s two Inverurie-based catering partners, Davidsons Butchers and Fly Cup Catering, both making a welcome return.
Race Director, Graham Morrison said: “Run Garioch is a real team effort, and I’m sure everyone’s hard work will pay off with a fantastic day.”
