Firewalk raises over £5k for charity
A charity firewalk event held in Port Elphinstone recently has helped to raise over £5,000.
The event was held at the Crichiebank Business Centre on Friday, March 9 in aid of Leonard Cheshire Disability.
It is estimated that the 26 brave participants have managed to raise around £5,500.
Senior Fundraiser for Leonard Cheshire Disability, Michael Jamieson, said: “The money raised is increasing all the time as there is still more to come.
“This is the first event of its kind that I have organised and I am just delighted with how it all went - I’m over the moon.
“The amount of money raised so far is fantastic.”
Michael added: “I would like to thank the Crichiebank Business Centre and the volunteers who helped on the night as without them the event wouldn’t have been possible.
“The money raised will be used to help maintain the work of the charity and will be utilised in so many ways.”
Leonard Cheshire Disability supports disabled people both in Scotland, the UK and around the world, to fulfil their potential and live the lives they choose through a range of support services.
The charity event was supported by Scott Bell and the UK Firewalk team.
