A medicine talk held in Ellon has raised over £1300 towards much needed church repairs in the town.
Ellon Parish Church Flower Committee organised the talk which was held on April 1 to raise funds for repairs to the Manse.
Guest speaker for the event, former Ellon GP, Dr Martin Pucci, told the audience various interesting facts surrounding Scottish doctors and those who had studied in Scotland.
Over 200 people packed into the Ellon Parish Church for the event which raised £1301.
Christmas flowers sold by the committee in December added a further £229 to the funds, making a grand total of £1530.
Committee convenor, Connie Bartlet said: “We hoped to raise over £1000 and are were very pleased to see so many people through the doors on the night. It was a very successful night!”
Committee member, Doris Burgess added: “Martin had a lot of facts and figures at his fingertips.
“The feedback from everyone who attended has been excellent.
“We are delighted with the results.”
The committee plan to sell floral arrangements again in December but for now they happy with their efforts.
The funds will help replace the Manse windows and modernise the building suitable for a new minister.
