The Formartine Partnership are encouraging people to visit the variety of floral displays on offer in the communities across Formartine.
The Partnership have created the Formartine Floral Trail which follows a path through the towns and villages of Formartine.
The launch of the Trail follows on from the judging of the Formartine in Bloom Competition which took place last week.
The Partnership hope the Floral Trail will urge more people to take a drive across Formartine and enjoy the floral displays on offer.
They also hope that the use of creative and unusual displays will inspire garden enthusiasts to come up with their own unique garden features.
Some of the imaginative displays include adapting old machinery as planters and even an old toilet and sink have been given a new lease of life as part of the floral presentations.
The displays are all created by volunteer groups within the community and they are always looking for more volunteers to join them.
Caroline Rennie of the Formartine Partnership said the Floral Trail is: “A good way to allow a wider audience the opportunity to enjoy the countryside, thank all the volunteers and hopefully bring some additional tourism into the communities.”
Sponsors of the Trail include Ocean Grove Geoscience Ltd, Sinclair Contractors, Enlim Ltd, Celebrations of Turriff, Rambo’s Tyre Services, JRD Equipment and Aberdeenshire Council.
The Partnership have created a suggested route across the Trail which is available on their website www.formartinepartnership.org.uk
