LOCAL event management company, George Walker Event Management Ltd stops at nothing to bring the most glitzy events to the North east. Not least is the star-studded 800th birthday celebrations of Fyvie Castle, to be held on Saturday, August 13 in aid of Friends of ANCHOR.
Global superstar, Beverley Knight MBE is to top the bill with Scottish band Capercaillie, Formartine singer, Kim Anderson and Americana outfit, Wynntown Marshals.
The proceedings will be opened at 4pm by massed pipes and drums with an explosive canopy of fireworks to mark the finale at 10pm.
VIP guests and sponsors will have the opportunity to join Beverley Knight at the after show party while guests will picnic on the lawn.
Friends of ANCHOR chairman and business man Jim Milne spoke enthusiastically about the event. He said: “Now and then an event comes to the North east of Scotland that is simply a ‘must attend’. Fyvie Live is just such an event.
“We are thrilled to have attracted such a stunning line up to Fyvie Castle to help mark this momentous milestone in its history.
“We have quite incredible music on offer, from international mega stars to highly accomplished local talent.
“The on-stage entertainment will be complemented by an arts and crafts market and a high quality food quarter.”
Fyvie Castle is one of Scotland’s finest baronial castles dating back to the early 13th century which has a rich history of ghosts, legends and folklore.
Being only a half-hour drive from Aberdeen, the event is likely to attract a capacity crowd of 5,000.
National Trust for Scotland’s property manager at the castle, Robert Lovie said: ”We wanted to to mark our 800th anniversary with something special. What better way to do this than by hosting an event that the whole family can enjoy.
Tickets are available at the gate on the day for £30 (£18 concession) but can also be pre-ordered at the discounted price of £25.50 (£14 concession) or £68 for a family of four via the Fyvie Live website at www.fyvie-live.co.uk.
