A fundraising group of youngsters from Inverurie summoned their super powers recently for baby charity Tommy’s.
The babies were sponsored to triumph against a set of superhero challenges on Monday, June 20, to fund vital research into stillbirth, premature birth and miscarriage.
The classes at Inverurie Roman Catholic Church saw babies from 0-13 months dressing as superheroes as they set out on a heroic mission to save babies’ lives.
Speaking afterwards Sheryl Bewick from the Baby Sensory Aberdeen Central group who organised the event said: “The event was fantastic and all the superhero babies did amazing and helped to “save the sun”.
“On the day we had a bake sale and raffle which raised over £500 and from babies sponsorship we raised over £800 with more sponsorship still to come in.
Therefore as a total we raised over £1,300 for Tommy’s which is incredible.”
The money raised will help fund Tommy’s four research centers.
One in four UK parents loses a baby during pregnancy or birth and 60,000 babies are born prematurely each year.
