Three straight home wins in the space of seven days has seen Inverurie Locos put themselves in a position to finish the season in fifth place. The completion of the game saw Locos become the first of the eighteen teams in the SHFL to finish.
The 4-0 victory over Clachnacuddin was more notable in that it was achieved with the side having seen out most of the second half without goalkeeper Andy Reid, sent off for a last man challenge. Sub goalkeeper Jamie McKinnon was an instant hero, coming off the bench and saving Stuart Leslie’s penalty
The Aberchirder based player savoured his contribution after the game but is now out of contract and will await instructions from the club:
“I was delighted to get the chance, I’ve always said I like to play in goals. It was good to get the chance and to save the penalty was a bonus. I was put straight under pressure by Andy (being sent off) and was happy to do it. I guessed, that’s the side I went to
“As for the shot later on, I tried to get a hand to it to get it on to the post
“I’m not sure what’s happening, I’ll come back in the close season, see what the co-bosses have to say, I’m out of contract now. I’ll be back for pre season, doing my best to win them over”
