Lib-Dems name Auld as by-election candidate

Inverurie resident Alison Auld is to stand for the Scottish Liberal Democrats in the Aberdeenshire Council by election in the Inverurie and district ward.

The election will be held on Thursday, November 3.

Alison has lived in the town with her family for 20 years and has been involved with several local community and voluntary projects in that time. She is a sitting community councillor and an active church member.

Alison was for 17 years the senior caseworker to West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine MP Sir Robert Smith.

She currently works as a support worker helping adults with learning disabilities, and is a regular volunteer with Aberdeenshire North Foodbank and a local social enterprise.

Alison said: “To the role of councillor for Inverurie and District I believe that I would bring knowledge and experience of living and working in Inverurie, bringing up my family and using local services.

“Over the years I have enjoyed the many advantages of living in the town and would like to be given the chance to serve as a councillor to represent local people and their concerns,” she added.
