A group of dedicated fundraisers from British Heart Foundation Scotland’s (BHF) Garioch Fundraising Group have received badges in recognition of their dedication to the charity.

Group Leader, Jenny Henderson, arranged the recent get together at the Inverurie Tesco community room.

Jenny received a 10 year badge while Betty Madill, Patsy Jardine, Carol Reid and Carol Radcliffe attended to accept their 5 year badges, celebrate their successes and to plan some great new events for the coming year.

The ladies accepted their badges from BHF Scotland’s Fundraising Manager, Kathy McIlwaine.

The Garioch Fundraising Group has supported the charity for the past 10 years and the money they have raised will help BHF Scotland fund even more life saving research.

The group has focused its efforts up to now organising local collections at supermarkets but is keen to branch out into other events and would love to hear from any local people who would like to get involved.

The Group’s next event is a Bingo and Fish Supper Night at the Ashvale Fish Restaurant in Inverurie on Tuesday, May 29 at 7pm.

Tickets are £15 and can be booked by phoning 01466 740375.

Those interested in in getting involved with the group can phone the same number for more details.

Kathy McIlwaine BHF Scotland Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re so grateful to Garioch Fundraising Group for their support.

“Their incredible energy and enthusiasm is helping us win the fight for every heartbeat, and we would like to say a huge thank you to them for their on-going support.

“There are around 670,000 people in Scotland living with heart and circulatory disease and thanks to the Garioch Fundraising Group we’ll be able to fund even more research into these conditions.”
