A MOTORCYCLIST who was killed in a road crash in Aberdeenshire last week has been named by police.
Colin Wilson, 47, from Aberdeen, died when his machine left the Wartle to Colpy section of the A920 at bends near Drum of Wartle on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr Wilson had been travelling towards Culsalmond around 3.30pm when his Honda CBR left the road and came to rest in a field between two bends near Colliehill Farmhouse.
An ambulance was called but he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicle was involved in the accident.
It was the third road accident fatality in the North-east in a matter of days.
A 73-year-old Aberdeen grandmother died in a two-car crash on the A90 Aberdeen to Balmedie road around 3pm on Sunday, July 22.
Muriel Duffy was killed in a collision between her red BMW and a black Honda Civic near the turn-off for Blackdog.
Mrs Duffy had been travelling with her daughter and two granddaughters, aged eight and five, who were also injured.
Meanwhile, a schoolboy died after being struck by a van at Westhill on Friday, July 20.
The accident which claimed the life of Anthony Healy, 9, happened on Broadshade Road around 11.30am.
Police investigating the incident have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
