MORAY composer Tish Tindall returns to her Aberdeenshire roots to tread the boards with a musical she has dedicated to the memory of her English Teacher, Irene Khalil.
Tish grew up in Strathburn Gardens, Inverurie and attended Inverurie Academy from 1981 to 1987. An Inverurie Academy Music Prizewinner, Tish was instrumental in keeping extra curricular activities in Music alive during the mid 1980’s Teacher strikes.
During this time Tish studied English with the late Irene Khalil who sadly passed away last year.
Tish commented, “Irene always expected my very best in the English Class. My English lessons were inspirational, a kaleidoscope of words and layers of meanings taught be a very real person of genuine passion”.
The Khalil family travelled on mass to Elgin to watch the preview of highlights of the musical “London to Lossiemouth” earlier this year. The Aberdeen premiere of London to Lossiemouth in it’s entirety takes place on Friday night, June 24, in the Lemon Tree, Aberdeen. Tickets cost £8, and for further information or to purchase tickets contact (01343) 813111.
