In Inverurie, Magpie will be selling furniture, books, bric-a-brac, electrical items outdoor equipment, toys, clothes, paintings and much, much more.

Magpie’s Coordinator in Inverurie, Shonagh Thom said they were “excited” about their new shop and added: “We would be delighted to start receiving donations from the local community and of course hoping at the same time to grow our wonderful team of volunteers as well.”

Magpie are seeking good quality furniture and any other household items or bric-a-brac for the new shop. For larger items, please call Magpie on (01467) 268087 and they will arrange to pick up from your home or office. Magpie does not charge to pick up furniture and other items though it does charge for the delivery of large items purchased from their shops.

Magpie is a key part of CVSA and a charity that tries to sell good quality second hand household items at prices that are comfortable for most people. Magpie plays a key role in supporting the community particularly at this difficult economic time and also provides furniture and other items free of charge to special cases that are identified through the council’s social departments and other contacts. In addition, Magpie attempts to reduce the tonnage that ends up in landfill and from an environmental perspective this is an important part of the overall operation.

Magpie supports the community through successful partnerships and has been able to develop and grow in Banchory as a result of the generosity and dedication of its superb volunteers. It is now looking to establish itself in the Inverurie community and Magpie is looking to recruit volunteers.

The charity would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in assisting the cause. They are looking for volunteers to assist in the mornings, in the afternoons, all day or just as much time as you can spare.
