Aberdeenshire North Foodbank has appointed a new manager.
The role has been created in response to growing and sustained use of the foodbank service.
Jeannie Price will oversee activities at the foodbank’s three distribution centres in Ellon, Inverurie and Huntly, as well as working with centre coordinators, volunteers and referral partners.
Her appointment is seen as an important milestone in the development and future direction of the foodbank, which began in November, 2012, in association with Garioch Church and the Trussell Trust.
The foodbank service operates across the north of Aberdeenshire in Formartine, Garioch, Banff and Buchan, Buchan, and Upper Marr and involves a team of 80 volunteers.
Jeannie has significant experience in marketing and project management and working within the voluntary sector and higher education.
She said: “I am looking forward to helping grow and develop the Foodbank service, which represents a wonderful community project making a valuable difference to people’s lives
“I am joining the foodbank at a busy time with a weekend-long Tesco food collection at the start of December which I hope will once again be well supported by local residents.”
