New Deer SWI president Eileen Brown welcomed members, friends and two representatives from Oldwhat WRI to the April business meeting.
The normal business was dealt with then the annual reports were given by treasurer Evelyn Glennie, followed by minutes secretary Pat Hibbit and then Eileen Brown.
The guest speaker for the evening, Morag Speak, was then introduced to the company.
Morag and her husband Allan run Wiltshire Farm Foods, which is based in Balmacassie Industrial Estate in Ellon.
They have a wide choice of meals, soups, main course, sweets and cakes - a total of 260-280.
Members were told that there are 18 employees, and two vans covering an area stretching from Buckie to Laurencekirk and also taking in Deeside.
The competitions were judged and the results are as follows:
3 Suggestions for Syllabus with Competitions - 1 E Morrice; 2 P Hibbit; 3 N Rennie.
6 inch Knitted Square - 1 N Rennie; 2 E Morrice; 3 A Dickinson.
Flower of the Month - 1 P Hibbit; 2 E Morrice; 3 Eileen Brown.
The Buchan Cup for most points was awarded to Nancy Rennie and the runner-up was E Dalgarno.
The trophy for flower of the month was won by Eileen Morrice.
The official business of the evening was concluded by the Oldwhat members.
