The recently formed Garioch Community Sports Hub (GCSH) organised a Nutrition and Sport Seminar, open to the 24 member clubs, which was hosted by Inverurie Locos FC at their Social Club.
The Seminar was led by Sports Nutrition expert Scott Baptie of Food for Fitness. Scott highlighted how some simple changes to how you eat when preparing for training sessions and match / race day can enhance the player / athletes performance.
The seminar was well attended by players from a number of clubs with Inverurie Locos Manager Scott Buchan and Chairman Eddie Innes among those in the audience.
GASH chairman Trevor Hart thanked Scott for his excellent presentation and said that he was pleased with the positive feedback he received from those attending the seminar.
GCSH intend to run further courses relating to sport for the benefit of its member clubs. For more information visit www.foodforfitness.co.uk.
Aberdeenshire East MSP Alex Salmond has praised the volunteers in the Inverurie area who are behind the successful Garioch Community Sports Hub set up earlier this year.
Mr Salmond said: “The volunteers involved in setting up Garioch Community Sports Hub have done a fantastic job and this is a great resource for club’s who are perhaps looking for help with training or accessing suitable facilities.”
