Local freelance photographer Paul Douglas, who features regularly in the Herald is currently exhibiting a selection of his work at the Acorn Centre Gallery, Inverurie until Saturday, April 25.
Paul said, “I’ve had a pretty busy 15 months, moving house twice, and had forgotten I had agreed last year to exhibit this spring so when Exhibition Organiser Liz Young reminded me it was bit of a scramble to pull the images together.
“There’s a story behind all my photographs, but my favourite is “Last Tot of Rum” which is a sunset at Camusdarach Beach looking towards the distinctive Isle of Rum.
“It reminds me of my Uncle Andy who passed away last month at the age of 92 and being an ex-Marine had maintained the naval tradition of a daily tot of rum after his evening meal.”
Any proceeds from the exhibition will be given, in his memory, to Children With Cancer UK.
