The entry numbers and judges have been announced for the pedigree bull and exhibition cattle classes at this year’s Royal Northern Spring Show

The Thainstone Centre, Inverurie looks set to have almost 100 pedigree bulls and 60 exhibition cattle at the event on Wednesday, February 25.

Judges this year will be Anne McPherson, Blackford Farm, for pedigree bulls and Paul Barwood, Great Yarmouth, for exhibition cattle.

The pedigree bulls entered have been consigned from leading pedigree herds throughout the North and North East of Scotland and are all accompanied by health certificates and performance information, allowing buyers to bid with absolute confidence. The pedigree bull numbers consist of: 25 Charolais; 25 Limousin; 19 Simmental; 19 Aberdeen Angus; two Shorthorns; five Saler; one Stabliser; and two pedigree Charolais heifers with calves at-foot.

Alan Hutcheon, Deputy General Manager at ANM, said: “It’ll be great to kick the show season off once again with such a reputable show and sale here at Thainstone. Strong entry numbers are indicating that we are in for a terrific show, both in the exhibition cattle and pedigree bull classes.”

Pedigree bulls will be shown at 8.30am with the presentation and sale commencing at 12 noon. Exhibition cattle classes will be judged at 11.30am with the presentation and sale taking place at 2.30pm.
