After completing a sponsored walk on Lochnagar earlier this year, owner of Ellon’s Delicious, Tracy Gibb, has presented a local group with a cheque for £900.
Tracy completed the walk alongside her staff from the sandwich takeaway and coffee shop in May and the group managed to raise around £1000.
The cheque was donated to Mums the Word which is run by the Inverythan Centre in Ellon and is a group for mothers suffering from post natal depression.
Tracy has donated the remaining £100 to the British Heart Foundation.
The walk took the group around eight hours to complete and they had to endure deep snow in some parts.
Tracy chose to raise the money for Mums the Word in order to make more people aware of the valuable service and to help remove the stigma that surrounds mental health.
She hopes to “Raise awareness for mums about post natal depression and to let them know there is something here to help them.”
Tracy added: “I just want to thank everybody for their support and their sponsorship.”
Manager of the Inverythan Centre, Catherine Gault, and Tracy would like to say a particular thank you to Sally Sheehan and Maureen Rennie for all their help and support.
