An Ellon woman has raised more than £200 for Macmillan Cancer Research from a coffee morning in a local shop.
Rebecca Pirie held the fund-raiser in the Co-op store in Meiklemill on Saturday.
She was delighted with the response to the event.
Rebecca, who has lost family members to cancer, said: “The coffee morning was a great success. There was a really good turn-out of customers and local residents.
“Many people said they liked the fact that I had set this up. They really appreciated it as it gave them a chance to have a cuppa and a chat with neighbours that they hadn’t spoken to in a while.”
Rebecca said she would definitely consider organising future fund-raisers.
She added: “To see how much people enjoyed and supported the cause was incredibly heartwarming.
“I’d like to thank all those who helped me with supplying the bakes and the staff for supporting the cause and helping me on the day. Also local residents who came down and supported Macmillan and were so generous with their donations.”
