Inverurie residents are being asked for their say on the kind of sports facilities they might want to see in the town in the future.
Aberdeenshire Council has set up a new survey for local residents to voice their opinions on the various facilities that they would like to see in the area in the coming years.
The town will soon benefit from new sports facilities as part of the state-of-the-art Inverurie Community Campus and other anticipated developments, including a proposed extension to the Garioch Sports Centre.
Inverurie continues to be popular as a place to live and work and there has been significant growth in the town over recent years, making it necessary for the council to ensure the right facilities continue to be provided.
The survey is open to people of all ages, including children, young people and those who do not currently use the sports facilities currently available.
Direct engagement with local residents and sports clubs in the Inverurie area is also taking place.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Education, Learning and Leisure Committee, Cllr Alison Evison, said: “This is an exciting time for Inverurie as new sports facilities are discussed.
“This survey will give sports clubs the chance to put forward their views on what they might need in the coming years.
“It also gives local residents an opportunity to highlight the kind of facilities they would like to see in the town in the future.”
Vice-chair of the committee, Cllr Charles Buchan, added: “This survey will make sure we have a clear picture of the future sports needs and aspirations of the people of Inverurie.
“The information gathered will feed into the designs of the new Community Campus and make sure that when they are unveiled for formal engagement they are as appropriate as possible.”
The online survey is available until Friday, October 14 and can be accessed at http://bit.ly/Inveruriesports.
All Inverurie residents are encouraged to take part and make their views known to Aberdeenshire Council.
