The sixteenth annual Fintray Sheltie Stakes will take place at Hatton of Fintray on Sunday, September 6, from 11a to 4pm.
The annual Fintray Sheltie Stakes and Family Fun Day has something for everyone, with the Shelties from Clothie Shetland Pony Stud making a welcome return. The pint-sized competitors face five challenging races over the jumps.
If you fancy a flutter then look out for the tote sellers who will be on hand between races to help you to place your bets and back a winner. This event not only brings everyone together for an afternoon of fun, it also helps to raise money for two very worthwhile causes - Hatton Of Fintray Primary School and the Village Hall funds.
There will be plenty of opportunities to spend your winnings at the arts and crafts stalls and sideshows. Youngsters will also have plenty to keep them entertained with various activities.
If all that action has left you feeling peckish, try the mouth-watering barbecue, home-made cream teas or a refreshment in the beer tent.
The Sheltie Stakes is held in a field by the roadside on Kinaldie Farm, Hatton of Fintray, entry is free and car parking is also free.
This is an open air event, in the very unlikely event of the skies daring to break there is plenty of shelter in the various tents and stalls.
