An Inverurie woman has been busy preparing for the lead up to competing for the prestigious title of Miss Great Britain.
Ursula Carlton (25) is hoping to steal the crown on the big night which features a swimwear round and an evening wear round, after being awarded the title of Miss Aberdeen.
She currently works as a full-time design assistant at Inverurie-based company, Laings.
Ursula said: “I am honoured to be awarded the title of Miss Great Britain Aberdeen and to be representing this area in the finals.
“I am excited to get involved in promoting and celebrating companies, charities and teams within the Aberdeenshire area, especially after such a hard hitting year with the oil industry, it’s great to be able to boost the moral and raise a bit of positivity in the area.”
The Miss GB finalist, pictured above at Dolce Vita, a well loved and popular florists in Aberdeen, is learning the creative art of flower arranging as part of her training as a newly crowned beauty queen.
Ursula added: “It’s important to me, as a title holder in this area, to involve myself in any way I can with local businesses, charities and teams, to learn about what they do, and to see if there is anything I can do to help celebrate and promote it.”
Miss Great Britain Aberdeen Ursula also hopes to host a Gala Ball in September prior to the finals, to raise money for charity Global’s Make Some Noise.
Could this local beauty queen be the next Miss GB?
Aberdeen certainly thinks so and hopes to see Ursula bring home the crown.
The Miss Great Britain finals will be held at Leicester Athena on Friday, September 23.
It will feature 47 other finalists all competing for the crown.
