TV Licencing also wish to inform local residents that if you live with someone aged over 75 their free licence will cover all viewing in the property.

Jason Hill, TV Licensing spokesperson, said: “The free licence is not granted automatically so those who are eligible should apply and get in touch with TV Licensing directly.”

Brian Sloan, Chief Executive of Age Scotland added: “The provision of a free TV Licence is a valuable concession which is very welcome to many at a time when the cost of living continues to rise.

“We certainly encourage anyone over 75-years-old to apply for their free TV License if they haven’t already done so.

“Applying is easy and TV Licensing will renew your licence automatically for three years once you’ve applied, cutting down on the need for paper work.”

Anyone who wishes to find out more information or for those eligible to apply for the licence can visit: www.tvlicensing.co.uk/over75info or contact 0300 790 6073.
