Sinclairs Jewellers of Inverurie has joined Dandara, Accord Energy, Ferguson Group, CP&Co. and Thainstone Events to become Run Garioch’s latest main sponsor.
As part of the family-run business’ 40th anniversary celebrations in 2015, Sinclairs will be making a substantial contribution towards the cost of chip timing for the event that takes place on Sunday, March 22, next year.
The jeweller will also be covering the cost of all runners receiving their race results by text message.
Owner Ian Sinclair said, “We wanted to mark our 40th anniversary in a way that both promoted our milestone and benefited charity. Supporting the event timing was a natural fit for us, as watches and timepieces have been such a large part of our business for nearly half a century.”
Partner Debbie Sinclair added: “Run Garioch is important to our community, and it’s great to be able to support it. It’s a family event and we’re a family business.”
It’s also as a family that the Sinclairs will be taking part in the event come race day. ‘Team Sinclair’ – Ian, his daughter Debbie and sons Martin and Graeme will be competing in the Dandara 10k Inverurie Business Challenge with dozens of other local shops and businesses. Debbie will be setting up a JustGiving page shortly to raise funds for Clan, Befriend a Child and other local charities.
Race Director Eric Simpson said, “We’re delighted to have the support of such a respected local business as Sinclairs for Run Garioch 2015. To hear that ‘Team Sinclair’ has already started training for the event is absolutely wonderful and shows just how much Run Garioch engages our community.”
Entries for Run Garioch 2015 open on Monday, October 6, at 12 noon at www.rungarioch.co.uk.
