The Premnay Hall Kitchen Refurbishment Project is bidding for a £25,000 community award from the OneFamily Foundation and residents in Auchleven and surrounding areas can show their support by voting for the project online.
The funds would be used to refurbish and enlarge the hall kitchen to ensure it can be improved to cater for community events in the vibrant and growing village.
By improving the catering facilities it is hoped that the hall will attract more local hirings such as wedding receptions.
Such events provide major contributions to hall funds that are essential in allowing the facility to grow in line with its expanding community.
Hall and Community Association committee member Helen Radford said: “The hall in Auchleven is the only place for the community to come together since the village pub closed in 2014.
“An improved kitchen would make it easier for the hall to be used for a wide variety of events such as Burns Suppers, Christmas parties and allow residents, friends and families to come together and reinforce community spirit.”
Information about the project was made available at a recent coffee morning and another one will be held on November 14 from 10am until noon in Premnay Hall.
Helen added: “This is an expensive project for a small community.
“A community award would help get this project underway immediately by providing all the funds at the beginning.
“This will allow for the work to be done as a single consolidated design rather than relying on non-integrated piecemeal work as money becomes available.
Voting is open until November 3.
