THERE is already a large entry put forward for the latest rare and minority breeds sale to be held by Aberdeen and Northern Marts at the Thainstone Centre, Inverurie on Saturday, August 27.
The sale normally attracts interest from all over the country and among the entries are 30 cattle including Dexter, Longhorn and Highland breeds, 70 pigs, 350 sheep including Shetland, Hebridean, Dorset, Oxford, Southdown, Ryeland, Whiteface Woodland, Gotland, Welsh Badgerface, Kerryhill, Castlemilk and Hardwick along with five goats.
There will also be a show and sale of Jacob and Ryeland sheep commencing at 9am. There are 650 cages of poultry and waterfowl on offer along with 100 lots of hatching eggs and poultry equipment.
The sale of poultry and wildfowl will be held in the Thainstone Exchange from 10am along with the sale of horses, ponies and the rare breeds in ring three. Hatching eggs will be sold at 10.30am in Exchange canopy and harness and tack will be sold at 11am in ring two. Tools from a bygone era will be sold in the concourse at 11.30am.
