Thainstone Specialist Auctions (TSA) created a new Centre record last week, achieving the highest price ever at its weekly vehicle auction.
The 2010 Audi R8 5.2 V10 Spyder Quattro exceeded all expectations as it was sold at a packed Thainstone Exchange to a successful buyer from the south of England, for £60,000.
John Roy, Vehicle and Machinery Sales Manager at TSA, said: “The car generated a tremendous amount of interest and we received countless enquiries from all over the UK. We expected it to sell well but we were delighted and surprised with the final price achieved. This clearly demonstrates the strength and integrity of the auction system that TSA, and the ANM Group has to offer.”
The Audi R8 is a limited edition production vehicle that combines the improvements in R8 GT with a convertible body. Only 333 were made in Europe with a further 50 made for the US market.
The vehicle was unveiled in 2011 at Le Mans.
