A LEADING Firm of North-east Solicitors has joined forces with Macmillan Cancer Support to exclusively offer a will-writing service during the month of November, 2011.
For the preparation of a simple will, Stewart & Watson will waive their fees and instead, their cllients will be asked to make a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Ninety-seven percent of Macmillan’s funding comes from voluntary donations, over a third of which is a gifted in wills. Without these vital donations the development of cancer support services across the North of Scotland would not be possible. These services include the funding of 110 Macmillan nurses or 20 Macmillan citizen advisors, who can provide financial advice and grants.
Stewart & Watson Partner, Jennifer Burnett, said:, “Stewart & Watson are very proud to have been asked to use our legal expertise to help Macmillan Cancer Support. The money raised from this will-writing initiative will help Macmillan to provide vital support services to people affected by cancer.”
Sheryl Wootton at Macmillan commented: “We are extremely grateful to Stewart & Watson for supporting Macmillan through this initiative. Whether people choose to donate now, in their wills or both, their support is vital to ensuring that more services, like providing financial grants, will be available to future generations of people affected by cancer in the North-east.”
